Applying for an NHMRC Application ID

Please apply for an NHMRC application ID by sending an email to nhmrcapplications.gmo@unsw.edu.au if you have not already done so. You will need to include the following information:

full contact details of the CIA, including mobile phone number/out-of-hours contact number
which scheme the application is for
names of other CIs to be on the application (even if tentative)
tentative Project Title where applicable
permission from the CIA if a nominated contact is to be included on email communications

NOTE: CIAs must have a formal affiliation with the University of New South Wales.

2008 Grant Announcements

Funding for Health and Medical Research

The Prime Minister has announced grants worth $560 million for health and medical research to more than 50 universities and research institutes. These successful grants are the outcome of the major funding round for the Australian Government's 2008 National Health and Medical Research grants.

The NHMRC website provides details of all funded grants.

The NHMRC provides funding for all areas of research relevant to human health and wellbeing. All researchers in Australia can apply for funding, through schemes ranging from scholarships through to large research programs.
